Koirien Kalevala by Mauri Kunnas5/28/2023 ![]() ![]() In which were taught reading, calculation and religion. ![]() So everyone didn´t have to make all things themselves. ![]() Unlike in country side, there were different professions in the town, for example baker, carpenter, blacksmith and cobbler. They get to know townspeople’s life in Finland in 19 th century. Koiramäen lapset kaupungissa, “The Dog hill kids go to town” Religion was important part of their life style. They had to grow their own food on the fields and make their clothes and tools and other things that they use themselves. Then people didn´t have electric lights or other electric appliances or super markets where we can buy our food these days. In the 19 th century life was really different than nowadays. Characters of the book are dogs as in all Dog hill books. It tells about life in the farmhouse in Finland in the 19 th century. Koiramäen talossa, “In the house of Dog hill“ All this hilarity is also real information about life styles of old times. Old times is seldom told as fascinatingly and colourfully as Mauri Kunnas does in his loved stories of Dog hill. Now we are going to tell you about three books of Mauri Kunnas. ![]()

The pursuit of man aw tozer5/27/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is not only lacking in maturity and knowledge but also reveals a certain cowardice. Representation of and “links” to so many Apostles whom are NOT Apostles at all I am equally wary of self-proclaimed Prophets, especially those that are so quick to place the very word “Prophet” before their own given names the lack of understanding in regard to “The Reformation” and it’s relevance in the current state of the Bride of Christ and what of the inclusion Enough said of Joel Olsteen? Has no one studied his “ministry” in the context of the Word of God? Enough said! As for yourself, “‘anonymous’ dee”, you spew the word ” trash” without any insight as to why you believe this to be so let alone the “what” you refer to. Not much activity as far as response to this particular website and for good reason, for “Unless the Lord builds the house, it’s builders labor in vain.” This site is not righteously regulated, if you will, and it’s “overseers” apparently lack discernment in regard to Godly responsibility for purity in and of the ministry of Christ, Jesus… There are too many falsehoods represented here for there to be a successful ministry. ![]() Anyway* by Arthur Salm5/27/2023 ![]() ![]() Mad Max) tell his story and how much I think you’ll love it too." † ![]() I wish I had marked specific passages or examples to share with you, but it's so short, I just recommend you read it yourself. ![]() Heck I did: I feel like it's a 3.5 star book but I can't help but give it the full four because it was just so much fun and Max & the others enchanted me. I think reluctant readers and fans of graphic novels will appreciate both the creative format and the character & his adventures. ![]() Ditto the middle-school voice of the narrator. But after awhile I got used to them, and there were fewer, so it was ok. The footnotes are distracting to me, an experienced reader, as they interrupted the flow. Nice touch that there are doodles, too: each chapter number is hand-drawn differently than every other. Reminds me a tiny bit of Diary of a Wimpy Kid but has much more heart, more depth & meaning, and fewer pictures & more words. like every other young teen, whether or not they live in privileged circumstances. But Max does have a way of feeling that everything that happens to him is a melodrama. Nobody here is going through serious trauma. Nice to read a story with both parents present, loving, and competent. ![]() Kenna reminders of him5/27/2023 ![]() ![]() The two form a connection despite the pressure surrounding them, but as their romance grows, so does the risk. But if anyone were to discover how Ledger is slowly becoming an important part of Kenna’s life, both would risk losing the trust of everyone important to them. The only person who hasn’t closed the door on her completely is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner and one of the few remaining links to Kenna’s daughter. ![]() Everyone in her daughter’s life is determined to shut Kenna out, no matter how hard she works to prove herself. ![]() But the bridges Kenna burned are proving impossible to rebuild. A troubled young mother yearns for a shot at redemption in this heartbreaking yet hopeful story from #1 New York Timesbestselling author Colleen Hoover.Īfter serving five years in prison for a tragic mistake, Kenna Rowan returns to the town where it all went wrong, hoping to reunite with her four-year-old daughter. ![]() Pegasus bridge ambrose5/27/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In 1961 the bridge acquired celebrity status due to the D-Day film, produced by Darryl Zanuck, The Longest Day. The insignia was chosen by the author Daphne du Maurier, wife of the wartime commander of British airborne forces General Sir Frederick Browning. Pegasus, the winged horse, was the emblem worn on the sleeves of the men of the airborne division. On June 26th 1944, the Caen Canal bridge was baptised Pegasus Bridge as a tribute to the British troops. Among these Green Berets, 177 French Commandos commanded by Philip Kieffer. The sea borne reinforcements commanded by Brigadier Lord Lovat, preceded by his bagpiper Bill Millin, were able to cross the waterways to reinforce 6th Airborne Division on the eastern flank. In less than ten minutes both bridges had been captured intact. 180 troops of the Ox and Bucks Light Infantry, commanded by Major John Howard, captured the bridges after landing in Horsa gliders only metres from their objectives. The capture of the River Orne bridge at Ranville and the bridge across the Caen Canal at Bénouville is the most famous mission of the airborne division. ![]() Honey Roasted by Cleo Coyle5/26/2023 ![]() ![]() One night, a swarm of escaped bees blanket the Village Blend's chimney, and Clare discovers Bea's unconscious body after she seemingly fell from her high-rise rooftop-hive setup. ![]() Produced by Madame's old friend "Queen" Bea Hastings, the rare, prize-winning nectar from Bea's rooftop hives commands a premium price, and top chefs compete for a chance to use it in their signature seasonal dishes. Luckily for Crichton, I didn’t put this particular novel down for either its inane plot structure or non-believable scenes or dialogue, as has happened in the past (consider the painful Timeline or the ridiculous Sphere). ![]() Sadly, however, I couldn’t delve very far into the book for the sake of Crichton’s incessant blasphemy, which will be my theme for this post. I’ve enjoyed watching films with similar story lines, and with Zika and the anti-antibiotic super-bugs threatening our fringes, I figured it would be a good time to give this book a read. I did so for the promised plot, a deadly virus in the 1950s American Southwest that threatens to kill off a large percentage of the world, if released. ![]() Perhaps I’m a glutton for punishment, but early this summer I opened up another novel by Michael Crichton, The Andromeda Strain. ![]() The Beet Queen by Louise Erdrich5/26/2023 ![]() Her fiction reflects aspects of her mixed heritage: German through her father, and French and Ojibwa through her mother. Karen Louise Erdrich is a American author of novels, poetry, and children's books. ![]() |
